Melvin and ShirleyAdelstein Scholarship Annual scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who is an Industrial Technology major. Preference Will be given to continuing students who have 36-60 major credit hours at WWU at the time of the award. Based on financial need and GPA.


Jay Baumann Memorial Association Scholarship Applicants must be full-time, junior or senior level students with a declared Engineering Technology Department major. Criteria for the award(s) include scholastic achievement, financial need, and a st atement of career objectives. Personal interviews may be requested of finalists.


Boeing Scholarship The Boeing company funds scholarships for declared majors who are currently enrolled in either the Electronics Engineering Technology of Manufacturing Engineering Technology program. Applicants must be upper division undergradu ate students who plan to graduate within two years. The scholarship(s) is awarded to applicant(s) judged most likely to make an effective contribution to the field of engineering technology.


Elias Austin Bond Technology Scholarship This scholarship was established in 1992 to honor the late Professor Elias Austin Bond. One scholarship is awarded to an upper division undergraduate student envolved in the Vehicle Research Institute of t he Engineering Technology Department. Selection is made by the Director of the VRI.


Davidson Plastics/BASF $1,500 one-time corporate sponsored scholarship to be awarded to a student majoring in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or Plastics Engineering Technology.


Engineering Technology Department Fee Wavier Scholarship Annual $750 award to a department major. Candidates are nominated by faculty and selected by department committee of the whole.


Mary Davis Gilles Johnston Scholarship for Applied Design This scholarship was established by a gift from Mary Davis Gilles Johnston for students majoring in industrial design, art, applied programs of graphic or fiber design, pre-architecture or pre-interior design. The scholarship is designated for a student who is beginning their senior year, who has a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; the scholarship is not based on financial need. Selection is made by a committee designated in the endowment ag reement. One or more recipients may be selected at the discretion of the committee.


John Joseph Kutz Memorial Scholarship This scholarship was established in 1994 by the family of Professor John Joseph Kutz as a lasting and meaningful tribute to Professor Kutz's significant contributions to the plastics industry and to Western's Plastics Engineering Technology program. One scholarship is awarded annaually to a PET major with a demonstrated special interest in recycling of plastics.


Don Moon Scholarship This scholarship was established by friends, colleagues and students of Dr. Donald Moon at the occasion of his 1983 retirement from the industrial arts teacher education program at Western. Selection is based on academic perf ormance and potential as an educator. One scholarship is awarded to a junior majoring in Technology Education for use in their senior year.


Pacific Energy Association Scholarship Annual scholarship awarded to full-time student(s) pursing a technical curriculum as a declared major of the Engineering Technology Department. Curriculum should be associated with engineering, design, draft ing, or other areas of concentration which can be characterized by the word "technical". Grade point average is a consideration in the selection process. One or more recipients may be selected annually at the discretion of the Department.


Joseph R. Padrnos Memorial Scholarship Annual sholarship awarded to a Manufacturing Engineering Technology major of at least junior standing with a minimum cummulative grade point average of 3.0. Applicants must be graduates of a high school in I sland, Skagit, Snohomish, or Whatcom Counties, with a preference given to graduates of a Whatcom County high school. Tecipient must work durring summer breaks and have a proven aptitude for engineering. Three letters of recommendation must be a part of the application package.


Sam Porter Scholarship This scholarship was established in June 1990 in honor of Dr. Sam Porter, Professor Emeritus. Scholarships are intended for outstanding graduate or post-baccalaureate students majoring in Technology Education; if none quali fy the award may be made to an undergraduate student. Selection is made by a committee designated by the endowment agreement.


Ivy Roth Memorial Plastics Scholarship Annual $2,500 scholarship for a woman majoring in Plastics Engineering Technology or a related major. Applicants must show initiative and motivation to study and contribute within the field of plastics. Fin alists may be interviewed by representative(s) of the donor.


Society of the Plastics Industry Scholarship Annual scholarship(s) awarded to a Plastics Engineering Technology major. Applicants must be full-time students during the award period and be declared PET majors of junior or senior standing. Minimum grade requirements are for an all university GPA of 2.75 and a PET major GPA of 3.0.


Tempress Scholarship Annual scholarships are awarded to full-time Plastics Engineering Technology majors. Eligibility criteria include scholastic achievement, career objectives, and financial need.


VECO Engineering Scholarships Annual scholarship awarded to full-time student(s) pursuing a technical curriculum as a declared major of the Engineering Technology Department. Curriculum should be associated with engineering, design, drafting, or other areas of concentration which can be characterized by the word "technical". Grade point average is a consideration in the selection process.
