A
significant
number of scholarships for department majors are available for the 2007-2008 academic year.
Please download
the application (see link below) and read information on requirements
for the individual scholarships.

· Late
applications and electronically submitted applications will not be accepted.
· Only
complete applications will be given consideration.
·
All
applications must include a sample thank you letter, (this letter
should be an example of what you would send to the donor of the scholarship).
This letter should be in the format of a business letter and should be a one
page letter, single spaced.
This thank-you letter, along with your answer to questions 6 & 7, provides
an example of your written communication skills.

Some
scholarships have additional application criteria, i.e., letters of recommendation
– be sure to read the information provided with the application form.
·
Criteria
for judgment of applications include: academic performance, contribution
to the program and the department, financial need (for some scholarships),
service (academic and community) and communication skills as demonstrated
by the quality of the application.
