SCHOLARSHIPS
FOR 2009-2010
Pending available
funding, scholarships for Engineering Technical department majors for the 2009-2010 academic year
will be awarded in fall quarter 2009. If
new or one-time only scholarships become available at other times during the
year, we will notify students about these opportunities. Every Winter on all
floors of the Ross Engineering Technology Building to let students know when
the scholarship application deadline date is for that year. You may download
the application (see link below). Students only need to complete one
scholarship application to be considered for all of the Engineering Technology
scholarships for which they are eligible. Information on criteria for
scholarships which are typically available can be viewed at requirements
for the individual scholarships. Please note: Some scholarships are only available for a particular major or
for a certain class standing, etc.

· Late
applications and electronically submitted applications will not be accepted.
· Only
complete applications will be given consideration.

All
applications must include a sample thank you letter. (This letter
should be an example of the thank you letter that will be sent to the donor of the scholarship).
This letter should be business letter format and should be one
page, single spaced.
Along with your answer to questions six and seven, this letter will be
considered an example of your written communication skills.

Some scholarships have additional application criteria, i.e., letters of
recommendation.

Criteria
for judgment of applications include: academic performance, contribution
to the program and the department, financial need (for some scholarships),
service (academic and community) and communication skills as demonstrated
by the quality of the application.
